Combining superior acoustics for classical music with state-of-the-art stage systems for theatre and dance, the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center is the premier performing arts center in northeast Iowa. The center serves as home for UNI School of Music ensembles, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra and many international visiting artists. The facility also provides instruction space, classrooms, practice and rehearsal rooms, teaching studios and office space. The dominant feature of the center is the 1,600 seat Great Hall reminiscent of a 19th century grand opera house. Other features include a 300 seat chamber music and recital space and a 125 seat hall that houses a new custom-made pipe organ.
