Located in Story City, Iowa just east of Interstate 35, NextEra’s Generation Repair and Service facility is utilized for repair of wind turbine electric generation equipment as well as storage of parts and supplies to support the company’s renewable and other energy-related operations throughout the Midwest.

Starting with an existing 30,000 sq. ft. building, a 54,000 sq. ft. addition to the east and a 6,000 sq. ft. office addition to the west were completed in nine months. The new building addition has a 45’ eave height to allow room for two 60-ton bridge cranes. Multiple gantry cranes are incorporated along with other manufacturing equipment. Two loading docks and two overhead doors provide access to the shop area.
