Story Construction was the construction manager for this 36,000-square-foot facility to be the first LEED® Gold-certified public library in Iowa. To obtain LEED certification, daylighting spaces, high-efficiency HVAC systems and high-recycled-content materials were incorporated into the project.

Construction features of the new library include a single-level design that is completely accessible to disabled patrons, on-site parking, 20 Internet stations, public meeting rooms, quiet study rooms, youth programming space and a separate young adult area.
