In October, Story Construction’s Small Projects Group completed spa room renovations at Green Hills Community in Ames.
Green Hills, a long time client of Story’s since construction of the first building on campus in 1986, is a resident-owned 55+ life plan community in Ames. The community features townhomes, apartments, health care and memory care wings, a wellness center, and other amenities.
“The biggest benefit of this new space is having the comforts of a towel warmer, a scale that’s easier to use, and more homelike environment for our residents,” said Kat Kilbane, Executive Director at Green Hills Community.
Renovations to the spa area allow residents to have a modern, comfortable, private area for showers. The larger space also allowed for additional safety upgrades including an in-floor scale, additional grab bars, and a larger shower.
“Working with Story’s Small Projects Group was nice because we typically saw the same people each day, which allowed us to get to know the crew, ask questions, and see first hand the progress being completed,” added Kilbane.
