Story Construction Completes Construction of Research Center for Industrial Client

This summer, Story Construction and crews completed construction of a new research center for an industrial client in Ames. Story Construction led construction of the facility as a subcontractor to MEP design-builder Baker Group, and also contributed architectural design to the project.

This new 45,000 SF facility, which sits just down the road from Story’s headquarters in Ames, includes a new lab, research and development space, along with new office areas. Construction began in late fall 2023 and wrapped up earlier this summer.

Story Construction crews self performed concrete footings and foundations, precast concrete erection, structural steel joists, casework installation, doors, frames and hardware, in addition to installation of a 150′ steel tube framed composite wood screen wall.
