Ballard Stadium Improvements

After completing extensive renovations to Ballard Middle School in 2020 as the district’s construction manager, Story Construction was hired to manage improvements to the district’s stadium. The improvements would include a replacement of the natural turf field with artificial turf, a new press box, a new ticket booth, a new storage building and a remodel of the concessions stand.

Work on the improvements began in the summer of 2020 for completion in 2021, but the derecho in August 2020 rendered the stadium unusable for that fall, as the press box was determined to be unstable and the scoreboard was heavily damaged.

The artificial turf field was installed and all other improvements were completed over the summer of 2021 and in time for the Bombers’ first home game in nearly two years on Sept. 10, 2021.
