Boone Water Treatment Plant

Designer: McClure Engineering Company

This project involved the construction of a well pumping station, electrical distribution center, generator building and chlorination facilities. The well field improvements included converting the existing shallow wells to pitless wells and installing three new pitless wells. A new 6.9 mg/day lime-softening facility was constructed that included a head tank aerator, cone softening units, recarbonation tanks, gravity filters, chlorine contact basin, lime storage and feed systems, CO2 storage and feed system, chlorination equipment, polymer feed equipment, phosphate feed equipment and fluoride feed equipment. Electrical devices required to provide an operational lime-softening treatment process was installed including control systems, process monitoring devices, electrical distribution systems and lighting.
