St. Luke the Evangelist was in need of additional classroom and meeting space at its building in Ankeny, thanks the growth in student enrollment. Story Construction was hired as the general contractor for the work, and the project broke ground in October 2020.

This project included a 13,300 sq. ft. addition to the north of the existing building to add six new classrooms, and 1,600 sq. ft. of renovations to existing classrooms, all of which was wrapped up in time for the start of school in the fall of 2021. A majority of the project was completed while school stayed in session, and more disruptive renovation work was completed over the summer.
Story Construction’s team worked alongside INVISION to learn traffic patterns around the school and church activities to accommodate the campus activities. Despite material and manpower challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was completed on time and budget for SLTE students and staff.
