In early August, L & L Builders, a division of Story Construction located in Sioux City, completed work at a new athletic practice facility for the Alta-Aurelia Community School District. District leaders and community members celebrated the completion of the project with a ribbon cutting on Aug. 7, wrapping up 12 months of construction.
The new standalone practice facility for the northwest Iowa district is located just south of the district’s high school in Alta. The building is a 22,200 SF pre-engineered metal building and includes a new weight room, a wrestling room with two mats, cross-courts for basketball and volleyball tournaments, and a turfed area for speed and agility programs that also features drop-down batting cages. Included in the scope of the project was additional site paving for parking and circulation.
