This September, L & L Builders – a division of Story Construction operating out of Sioux City – completed construction of a Regional Career Center addition for Western Iowa Tech Community College in Denison.
The roughly 15,000 SF addition onto WITCC’s Denison Campus houses instructional space and resources for career academy courses in automotive technology, nursing, agriculture, business and education. Regional centers are required to host at least four career academy programs and serve students from multiple school districts. This one in Denison will serve students from the Denison, Boyer Valley, Maple Valley Anthon Oto-Charter UTE (MVAOCOU), Odebolt Arthur-Battle Creek Ida Grove (OABCIG), and Woodbine districts.
The new facility for WITCC includes a new ag lab, auto body lab, three nurse simulation training rooms, a labor and delivery simulation room, three classrooms, and additional commons space and support spaces. The building features a steel structure with metal studs and masonry brick exterior, and utilizes a geothermal well heating system.
Story Construction acquired L & L Builders Co. at the beginning of 2025, creating a new division for Story Construction operating as L & L Builders in the Siouxland region.
