Story Construction served the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District as Construction Manager on a two-story addition to the southeast side of Bondurant-Farrar High School, completed prior to the 2025–2026 school year. The addition adds art classrooms, a fitness room, a wrestling room, and support spaces, and also included reconfiguration of existing areas including the cafeteria, training room, fitness room, and vocational technology classrooms. The entire addition was constructed to meet FEMA tornado shelter guidelines for structural integrity.

The project stemmed from a $48 million bond referendum approved by district voters in 2023 to address continued enrollment growth. Story engaged with the district and SVPA Architects during design, providing preconstruction services including cost estimating, constructibility analysis, bid packaging, and bid administration. Bids received in April 2024 came in just under budget. Construction began in August 2024 with footings and foundations, followed by erection of 32 precast concrete panels. The building was weather-tight by November 2024, with interior flooring and finishes completed through spring 2025.

This was the sixth project Story Construction has completed for the Bondurant-Farrar district, part of an ongoing relationship that includes the junior high school (2022), secure entrances at Anderson Elementary and the Intermediate School (2024), Intermediate School renovations (2020), Morris Elementary additions (2019), and a prior high school addition (2018). Story is also currently leading construction of the district’s new baseball, softball, and tennis facilities.
