Siegwerk is an international manufacturer of printing inks for food-grade packaging, newspapers, magazines and catalogs. Headquartered near Cologne, Germany, the company is family owned and has been in business for over 180 years. The owners sought to replace their current Des Moines warehouse space located approximately six miles from their production facility.

Story Design

Through value engineering and redesign efforts, Story brought down the the project cost to within the owner’s budget. The scope of the project included precast concrete, 10 dock doors, a small office space, a trucking office with outside access, a sprinkler room and in-rack sprinkling system, rest rooms and locker rooms. The project also included a connecting corridor from the new warehouse to the existing production facility and office space.
